CLEWISTON, FL – Sugar Express, a regional railroad attraction operating in South Central Florida, has announced a special Farm to Table Excursion and Ice Cream Train for Mother’s Day Weekend. Ticket sales begin April 12th at 6:00 PM at sugarexpress.com.
“Hendry County is the heart of Florida’s farming industry and is a major provider of the nation’s sugarcane, vegetables, and beef. Sugar Express is pleased to be able to give its passengers a taste of our wonderful food and our hospitality,” stated Scott Ogle, Superintendent of Sugar Express.
The gourmet Farm to Table Excursion will feature a pre-trip dinner prepared by the Hendry County Cattlemen’s Association and be followed by a roundtrip two-hour ride at sunset. Dinner begins at 5:30 PM on May 12th and 13th, and trains depart at approximately 7:00 PM.
Tickets include a meal of mouthwatering 16 oz. ribeye steak, baked potato, corn on the cob, and other fixings. Tickets are $148 per person or $500 for four guests.
Group rates for parties of ten or more are available. Meal service and train departures will be at the Hendry County Fairgrounds at 710 S Francisco Street in Clewiston.
On May 13th and 14th, the Miami Locks Ice Cream will provide a family-friendly outing to the Miami Locks Canal and return. Departing Clewiston at 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM. Tickets include ice cream served on board and are $15.00 for children three and older and $25.00 for adults. Trains depart at 900 W C Owen Avenue in Clewiston.
