SOUTH CENTRAL FLORIDA – Sugar Express has released its remaining 2024 excursion schedule, including holiday train rides, day-long excursions to regional farmers markets, a journey to the Archbold Biological Station, and various family-friendly offerings arriving October through December. Ticket sales begin at 6:00 PM on August 20th at sugarexpress.com.
Sugar Express has welcomed well over 20,000 guests to the region as its operations have expanded and hauled over 10,000 passengers in 2023. With the addition of new first-class passenger cars and deluxe coaches in 2024, the attraction will be able to accommodate more riders than ever before.
The remaining season will begin October 19th with the Lake Placid Limited operating between Clewiston and Lake Placid. On October 20th, the Archbold Arrow will invite guests to travel from Clewiston to the historic Archbold Biological Station, founded in 1941, to take an afternoon nature tour.
Sugar Express’ offerings will include 2-hour train rides operating out of Sebring, Florida aboard the Highlands County Crescent in November; and six-hour roundtrips between Clewiston and Lake Placid on the Lake Placid Limited in October.
The Santa Express will visit Highlands and Hendry Counties this December as U.S. Sugar’s popular Christmas excursions return for a third year, operating out of Sebring on Saturday, Nov 30, December 7th and 8th, Clewiston on December 14th, and 15th, and Lake Placid on December 20th, 21st, and 22nd. A new 18-and-over first-class car, group discounts, family table packages, private charters, and more are available.
Sugar Express will also operate its fourth annual Toys for Tots Train on December 12th and deliver gifts to families in need. Interested parents can sign up to receive toys in December directly from the program at: toysfortots.org.

THE SANTA EXPRESS EXPERIENCE
These joyful holiday trains will offer families a 2-hour trip through the countryside aboard a decorated, historic passenger train. Each ride features a visit with Santa Claus, cookies, and a commemorative gift. First-class tickets include locally-made sweets, treats, hot chocolate, and desserts.
TICKET PRICES
Tickets are $50.00 for adults and $40.00 per child ages 4 – 14. Children 3 years of age and under ride free. First-class four-top table seats for families are available for $250.00 and first-class lounge (18-and-over) seats are $85.00 per person.
