After welcoming over 2,500 visitors aboard its holiday events, Sugar Express has expanded the capacity of its tourist train for a variety of events in South Central Florida, including Clewiston’s Sugar Festival in March and Mothers Day Weekend in May.
MAY 12th, 13th & 14th – FARM TO TABLE EXCURSION, ICE CREAM TRAINS

The gourmet Farm to Table Excursion will feature a pre-trip dinner prepared by the Hendry County Cattlemen’s Association and be followed by a roundtrip two-hour ride at sunset. Dinner begins at 5:30 PM on May 12th and 13th, and trains depart at 7:00 PM on May 12th and 13th. Tickets include a meal of mouthwatering 16 oz. ribeye steak, baked potato, corn on the cob, and other fixings. Tickets are $148 per person or $500 for four guests. Group rates for parties of ten or more are available. Meal service and train departures will be at the Hendry County Fairgrounds at 710 S Francisco Street in Clewiston.
On May 13th and 14th, the Miami Locks Ice Cream will provide a family-friendly outing to the Miami Locks Canal and return. Departing Clewiston at 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Tickets include ice cream served on board and are $15.00 for children three and older and $25.00 for adults. Trains depart at 900 W C Owen Avenue in Clewiston.
JUNE 3rd & 4th – LAKE PLACID LIMITED – BOOK NOW
This steam-powered excursion to Lake Placid departs Clewiston mid-morning for a 2.5-hour layover for lunch, shopping, and exploration in Lake Placid, Florida. The train will arrive back in Clewiston at approximately 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM. $148.00 plus tax for the dining car, $99.00 plus tax for a deluxe coach.

PAST EVENTS
FEBRUARY 24th & 25th – SEBRING SUGAR EXPRESS
Sugar Express will operate three-and-a-half hour roundtrips departing Sebring and Lake Placid, Florida on February 24th and 25th. Passengers may visit downtown Lake Placid and enjoy local shops and restaurants during their layover.
Departure times are at 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM and include an hour-and-a-half layover in Lake Placid. Tickets are $48.00 plus taxes and fees. Parking and boarding will take place at 781 Magnolia Ave, Sebring, FL 33870.
FEBRUARY 26th – LAKE PLACID LOCAL
On February 26th, Sugar Express will operate a limited number of one-hour roundtrips south from Lake Placid. Trains depart at Noon, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM. Tickets are $25.00 plus taxes and fees
Ticket sales for events in February start at 6:00 PM on January 12th.
MARCH 17th & 18th – CLEWISTON SUGAR FESTIVAL
In March, Sugar Express will run a two-hour roundtrip to Moore Haven and hour-long roundtrips out of Clewiston during the Clewiston Sugar Festival. Friday tickets are $48.00 plus taxes and fees and Saturday tickets are $16.00 plus taxes and fees.
APRIL 7th & 8th – SUGAR EGGSPRESS EASTER TRAIN – BOOK NOW
Departing Clewiston, families can enjoy an Easter-themed train ride and exclusive food and drink service aboard our dining car. Coach class tickets start at $24.00 for children and $48.00 for adults. Dining Car tickets are $140.00 for couples. $280.00 will reserve an entire table for four guests. Prices do not include sales tax.
