CLEWISTON, FL – U.S. Sugar has announced its initial 2024 Winter and Spring Schedule for its popular vintage train rides in South Central Florida, featuring a variety of experiences for families, tourists, and railroad fans alike. Events are scheduled between January and May, with additional dates and trips to be announced.
ICE CREAM TRAIN
Enjoy a refreshing train ride aboard the Ice Cream Train on a trip between Clewiston and Moore Haven. These 2-hour roundtrips include Sugar Express steam locomotive No. 148 and complimentary ice cream sandwiches and frozen desserts. Tickets are $48.00 for adults and $35.00 for children plus tax. CLEWISTON COMET
No. 148 will carry passengers from Lake Placid to Clewiston for a layover at the beloved Market on Bond Street featuring local farmers, fresh food, entertainment, and welcoming neighbors in downtown Clewiston. First-class tickets are $148 and deluxe coach tickets are $99.00. Click here to book.
LAKE PLACID LIMITED
Departing Clewiston for Lake Placid in the morning, guests will enjoy a high-stepping passenger train ride behind Sugar Express steam locomotive No. 148 as it slips through the sugarcane fields and arrives for a two-hour layover in the historic town of Lake Placid, Florida. Following lunch and a tour on their own, guests will return to Clewiston behind a Sugar Express diesel locomotive and arrive in the early evening. HIGHLANDS COUNTY CRESCENT
Enjoy a two-hour passenger train ride from Sebring, Florida through the orange groves and along the shores of Lake Placid for a roundtrip to and from the sugarcane loading station site at Childs, Florida.
