Step aboard the Sugar Express Sunset & Suds and enjoy a spirited two-hour journey through South Central Florida’s sugarcane country. Departing in the late afternoon from Clewiston, this adults-only excursion is timed to start your weekend early, just as the setting sun paints the rural fields and skies in brilliant color.
Beverages are available for purchase onboard (credit/debit only). Train departures are timed for optimal evening light. Group bookings are available.
As the excursion winds through local farmland, guests can indulge in Sugar Express’s new onboard bar offerings with The Tipsy Horseshoe, featuring a curated selection of beer, wine, exclusive cocktails, and other beverages available for purchase on board. Each car offers its own atmosphere — from breezy views in the Open Air Coach to the comfort of Deluxe Coach seating, or the elegance of First Class with complimentary appetizers and refreshments.
With no destination other than the joy of the ride itself, riding behind our diesel locomotives on the Sunset & Suds is the perfect way to unwind, toast to good company, and savor the soothing rhythm of the rails as the day turns to night.
TICKET TYPES
Private Pullman Car Clewiston
Ride like a railroad executive or Hollywood celebrity from the 1930s aboard our private Pullman business car! Enjoy the day aboard in the Clewiston’s climate-controlled lounge, dining room, and private suites, all reserved exclusively for your group of up to 14 guests. Includes all First Class amenities with added privacy and comfort. A small catering kitchen is available for parties and groups that wish to bring additional food and light refreshments.
First Class Observation Seat
This is a first-class ticket for the observation section in the Bay Biscayne. Appetizers and light refreshments are included. Drinks are available for purchase onboard (credit/debit only). Guests enjoy complementary appetizers and light refreshments served on board in a relaxed, elegant Fourteen individual cushioned chairs setting.
First Class Tavern Seating
This ticket provides a First Class seat in the tavern section of our vintage Bay Biscayne car. Guests enjoy appetizers and light refreshments served onboard in a relaxed, elegant setting. Drinks are available for purchase onboard (credit/debit only). ts served on board in a relaxed, elegant eight individual cushioned chairs and room for eight guests on a comfortable bench setting.
First Class Table Package
This ticket accommodates one guest at a First Class table of four in our vintage dining car Palmdale, to sit together, purchase tickets in one order. Palmdale passengers enjoy appetizers and light refreshments served onboard. Drinks are available for purchase onboard (credit/debit only).
Passenger Coach Seating
This ticket provides one seat in Passenger Coach No. 1002, a recently restored, climate-controlled passenger car featuring classic walk-over seats that can be reversed to face the direction of travel. Seating is open and unassigned, and these seats can be arranged in pairs and quads to accommodate both couples and groups. Beverages are available for purchase onboard (credit/debit only).
Open Air Car Seating
Ride in bench-style seating with semi-enclosed sides and sweeping, 360-degree views of the passing scenery and Florida countryside. This car is perfect for sightseers and railfans who want to experience the sounds, sights, and speed of historic railroading. Please note: this coach is not climate-controlled. Beverages are available for purchase onboard (credit/debit only).

The Sunset & Suds is 2 hours journey through South Central Florida’s sugarcane country. Trains depart Clewiston in the late afternoon by 4pm or 5pm.

Our excursion train is comprised of historic passenger cars dating from the early 1900s to the mid-1950s, including First Class observation and lounge cars, table cars, deluxe coaches, and open-air cars. All cars are climate-controlled, except for the open-air class, and each trip features onboard restrooms. Please note that, due to its historic configuration, Sugar Express is not ADA-accessible.

The Sugar Express Spritzer boards 165 Basilan Crescent, Clewiston, Florida 33440. Please only park and board where there is posted signage and arrive with plenty of time to park, check in, and board your train.
Our excursion train includes steep steps, narrow hallways and doorways, and small restrooms, which may present challenges for guests with limited mobility. Passengers should plan accordingly and contact us in advance to discuss any special needs or assistance.
Because of the unique railroad environment, all guests must wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Flip-flops, sandals, and high heels are not permitted. Boarding and detraining areas may have uneven surfaces, large gravel, and high steps, and walking is required at all locations.
